Impenetrable purple in color. Tight nose, with some mint peeking through the red fruit. Dried fruits, pronounced tannins on the palate. Very long finish with firm tannins. (92 pts.)
We ate dinner at The Vintage House Hotel, which is conveniently located right on the Douro River and right across from the Pinhão train station. The hotel is a lovely, classic gem in the heart of the Douro Valley. We tasted a number of wines with our dinner, but I've only included notes for the Ports that we tasted.
