For The Love Of Port

(Bottled 2013.) Darkest brown of the flight (with 1952-1961 colheitas), with some garnet in the center; but nice clarity. Smells of sugary cellar, with dried evaporated tawny on the outside of the barrel. Swirling gives some wood varnish, and there is more wood after that, like sandalwood and mahogany. Tasting reveals lots of tangy, sugary syrup, but not too concentrated, and this is cut by citric acidity with the flavor of key lime. Also tastes like the crusty top of a crème brûlée. 96+ points.
