Decanted at 18:00 on 3/22 and given a quick taste then, which seemed promising. ~4 hours later ... Inky dark dark magenta. Aromas of chocolate, esteva, grape stem, black cherry, hint of dark olive. Swirling gives some alcohol and dark, jammy fruit, plum to prune. Tastes as concentrated as it smells, with dark fruits and decent but not overwhelming tannins. Acidity is present as well, but tame. Fairly sweet. Finish is relatively short except for some sweet fruit pucker. Poured back into the bottle and the bottle was vacu-vinned. Tasted the second night and seemed fairly similar, but no notes taken. 3rd night ... Aroma gives a little bit of spice along with dark fruit. Flavor is also somewhat dark and brooding, thick and tangy; and there is a lot more tannic pucker, and a little more acid apparent as well. Blueberry and blackberry. Finish is still in the short to medium range.

Overall this is plenty enjoyable now, and I would give it 91-92 points, with 91 on the first night, 92 on the third. I think this will definitely improve with age and can see it easily at 94 points in the future.

Side note: I help trod this wine, and can report that it doesn't taste like my feet, at least as best as I can guess since I haven't tasted them.
