SAMMAMISH PORT CLUB - MAY 2017 - Sammamish, Washington (5/4/2017)
  • 1990 Dow Porto Vintage Quinta do Bomfim - Portugal, Douro, Porto
Amber brick in color. Clear. Light red hots on the nose with strawberry underneath. Strawberry and red fruit on the palate with a hint of spirit. Balanced, elegant mid-palate with a long finish. (89 pts.)
  • 1990 Graham Porto Centenary Malvedos - Portugal, Douro, Porto
Amber purple in color. Mostly clear. Ripe red fruit with a touch of sourness – likely from the seepage this bottled suffered. Cloying sweetness on the approach. Mouth-coating finish. A touch of vegetative notes on the finish. (87 pts.)
  • 1991 Fonseca Porto Guimaraens Vintage - Portugal, Douro, Porto
Purple with hints of ruby on the edges. Light aromas of cake batter, grape candies, and some floral notes. Unctuous finish with cola notes. (90 pts.)
  • 1992 Warre Porto Vintage Quinta da Cavadinha - Portugal, Douro, Porto
Light amber purple in color. Clear. Herbal notes on the nose. Great balanced red fruit on the palate with a nice long finish. (89 pts.)
  • 1995 Taylor (Fladgate) Porto Vintage Quinta de Vargellas - Portugal, Douro, Porto
Very dark amber purple. Some spirit on the nose, with some red fruit underneath. Full-bodied with great red fruit and balance. (93 pts.)
  • 1995 Quinta do Vesuvio Porto Vintage - Portugal, Douro, Porto
Very dark purple with a brick red tinge. Opaque in the center. A hint of the classic violets this wine is known for. Full-bodied with black fruit and herbal notes on the finish. (91 pts.)
