Pop and pour. Deep purple with crimson rim. Looks younger than 28 year. Power punch of pomegranate, a touch of stone with a soft sweet finish that ends with a chocolate note. Still lots of tannins; based on the color and tannic nature I would say this could age even further easily. Tasted at 48 hours and flavors had softened--too long a wait. Bottled in 1996.
