Spent 9.5 years (January 2011 - May 2020) consuming two OWC (totalt 12 btls) of 1983 Ramos Pinto vintage port. The first and the last bottle were both 88 pts. However, the other 10 bottles were quite steady at average 92 pts (best being 94 pts). Have found 5.5 hrs to be suitable decanting time.
The last bottle:
Decanted 5.5 hrs. Cork had been swelling, and appeared to be soaking wet. Difficult to get out in one piece, even with The Durand. Dark red colour with a touch of brown. Aroma of fruit with a touch of anis and herbs. Medium body. Fruity, good balance acidity/sweetness, well-structured port, a bit slimmer in the consistency than the previous bottles. Less fruit than normal. Medium length aftertaste. 88 pts.
