The cork came out in two pieces, the colour is medium garnet, lost a lot of his colour from the last time I opened one (in 2016).
On the nose a lot of alcohol. I gave it some air and waited 4 hours to pour a glass.
On the palate cassis, prunes and lots of sweet cherries, I taste no alcohol, low acidity, nice medium aftertaste.
The second day more red fruit, sweet strawberries come to mind, the port has freshness and is medium bodied. Lovely to drink, but I expected more from it. Maybe not the right time to open this bottle? Or could it be provenance, as this bottle came from another case..?
Edit: The third and fourth day this showed way better, much more integrated, smooth, velvetty, lots of sweet fruit, cassis, strawberries, really more complex en a very long aftertaste. Nice!
