NV Kopke 10 Year Old Tawny Port

Post by John M. »

Recently purchased at auction, I got two bottles and both were opened on consecutive nights--both showed identically. Bottled in 2018, T Cork. Both were nearly pop and pour but the best results were after an hour and a half and stayed at that plateau for a couple days.

Orange brown color and clear--a lovely, ethereal color. Looks mid-weight. A nose of nuts and apricot. Pecans, a hint of hazelnut and cooked and reduced tangelos (tangerine/orange) with a dollop of syrup. A polished finish that lingers (and never hot unlike older bottlings). Very easy casual sipper that is a delight to drink but is not complex--a solid 10 Year TWAIOA.
