Tasted at a mini-vertical of 1994-1998.
1998 Quinta do Vesuvio Vintage Port
decanted 6 hours, which ultimately seemed a little low. Recommend 7-8 hours.
Color: dark purple with a 3/8" to 1/2" rim.
Nose: faint green pepper, also faintly reedy. Most of the fruits seem red and ripe, though not bright.
Palate: cola, rich purple bramble berries, some chocolate. Oddly austere. Plenty of purple and deep red fruits as well.
Score: 93 points. When your worst Port of the night scores this high, you know you've had a good night. This was the consensus least favorite, not because it wasn't terrific but because of what it was up against.

We both scored it 93 - You in Washington and me in California. An excellent Vintage Port!
