Garnet with a slight haze. I stood this up and decanted it immediately. Given the haze, perhaps I should have let or stand for a little while first. Decanted at 6 p.m., first taste at 7:30. Aroma is a little musty, with cherry, leather, and chocolate. There is also a hint of dried flower, and something like a mild, tangy, BBQ sauce. Flavor is tangy and juicy, followed by a warm finish. The tannins are gone from this bottle. There is plenty of acid, orange and lemony. The fruit is not primary, more like faint strawberry and diluted bramble berry.
I didn't score this at the time, but the note suggests 90-92 in my mind. And while the first taste was at 7:30, the note was primarily based on tasting later in the evening.
