Decanted around 1 p.m., and tasted at 9. Initial aromas of grape skin, leather, and macerated blackberries. Swirling gives menthol and faint solvent or medicinal alcohol. There is also a hint of red fruit, possibly raspberry. Medium tannins and alcohol warmth in the mouth, with strong acid. The flavor seems dark, but simple, with some chocolate showing up along with the dark berry fruit. Later the leather came through more on the aroma, along with some dried leaf. The flavor is a little lighter now too, with a little sweet tangy acid. Still on the simple side, however. And the finish is on the shorter side. Finally, the dried leaf aroma turned into some eucalyptus. I started out thinking this was worth 91 points, but I ended at 90 points.

Great question Andy, but I don't have a great answer. I have a few more of these and that was part of my motivation in opening this one now. I don't think think this is going to improve, but I don't think it is going to decline quickly either. I'll probably open another in five years.
