Nose of chocolate and some subtle herbs. Dusty red fruit, cherry, and a touch of cola on the palate. Rich, long finish with a hint of cinnamon. (92 pts.)
  • 1995 Tuke Holdsworth Vintage Port - Portugal, Douro, Porto
Vanilla cake batter and some red fruit notes on the nose. Full-bodied, rich palate with red fruit and cherry hard candies. Long, balanced finish with some nice red fruit notes carrying through to the end. (91 pts.)
  • 1990 Graham Malvedos Centenary Vintage Port - Portugal, Douro, Porto
Dark ruby-purple in color. Raspberry jam and chocolate on the nose. Dark fruit and hints of prunes on the palate, with a ton of cocoa powder. Overall, a complex flavor profile and a long finish. (92 pts.)
  • 1987 Krohn Colheita Port - Portugal, Douro, Porto
Bottled in 2009. Nose of caramel, honeycomb, and cedar. Hints of orange spice and butterscotch on the rich, luscious palate. Great acidity and balance. A slight note of heat pops up on the very end of the finish, but it didn't impact the overall impression of the wine. (93 pts.)
  • Quevedo 40 Year Old Tawny Port - Portugal, Douro, Porto
Bottled in 2015. Hints of chocolate, dark fruits, and teak on the nose. Rich, luscious mouthfeel with molasses and burnt sugar. Long, balanced finish. (94 pts.)
