1994 Warres VP

Post by Bradley Bogdan »

Imported ex-cellars in 2018. Decanted 4 hours.

No bricking, but starting to soften in color at the edge.

Raspberries, flowers, and a purple heirloom tomato-y note that I’m struggling to describe in a different way on the nose.

Enters with plenty of fresh berry fruit, moving to more spiced berry compote with a bit of green leafiness in the middle, and a long finish of sweet, minerally dark floral juice, like a sweet violet and blackberry tea on a slate cheeseboard.

This is a light to medium weight VP, showing plenty of primary character 26 years on, but the structure having yielded plenty to make this a great drink now with limited decant. Have no fear to hold this a couple decades hence though. This is clearly going to have a stylish and long window.
