Here's to 2021 - it's a pretty low bar to be better than last year, but here's hoping!

I hope everyone has a great year filled with good health, good friends, and good Port!

let's see where it goes. i'm waiting for the African union to invade the US and restore democracy

so what are your port plans this year? for me the first VP will probably be a 1985 Quinta do Crasto. it was meant for a birthday as it's my year but i just noticed the bottle is leaking so i won't keep it around until november.

I should drink some of my "mid-life" Vintage Ports... things like 1994, 2000, and 2003. Just to see how they are doing.

I’m doing this already. I’ve got a 94 up next.

I tried a lot of 35-40 yearold VP last year and was surprised to find it "ready" for my style of drinking, much like 1970 and 1966. 1980 in particular is in a really good place right now. So I think my plan starting in 2021 is to skip over my remaining 1970s and 1977s in order to save them for later tastings, and start drinking the much larger supply of 1980, 1983, and 1985 that I have. And also buy more of those same 1980s-era VPs before they really start to jump in price.

Happy New Year to all! On this side of the pond we aren't off to a great start, but I'm still hopeful for the future.

As for my 2021 Port plans ... I haven't made those yet. But the onsite storage is getting low, so it is about time to pull some bottles from "offsite." I anticipate opening some more TWIOA as I have my shipment from the last FTLOP buying op, and will be getting some more from the current buying-op. I think it is time to drink a few lesser-name 1977s, and I like the idea of opening some 1980s and maybe an early 1990s bottle or two.
