1966 Krohn Colheita port

Post by Rune EG »

Second of two identical bottles purchased at the old Krohn-shop in Gaia back in October 2012. The first was consumed Dec.12 and got 95 pts. Now 8 years after the second one it is still very good, but do not have that extra like the first bottle. Another example of long time between bottling and consumption has a negative effect.

Bottled 2011. Decanted 2 hrs. Deep dark brown colour. Slightly oxidized. Aroma of minerals, wood, citrus and a touch of cigar. Full body. Taste is powerful, quite elegant. Including citrus and hints of caramel. Nice acidity/sweetness-balance, although the acidity is building up towards the end. Well-structured. Opened too late as nearly 10 years is too much since bottling. Long aftertaste. 92 pts.
