1970 Fonseca vintage port

Post by Rune EG »

Decanted 5 hrs, which was OK. Medium red at decanting. When served the colour was dark brownred. Aroma showing ripe berries and old wood. Full body. Taste was rich in style, elegant and ripe berries. Also, wood was there together with distinct tannins and some dryness. Slight anis towards the end. Touch of something medicinal in the background, which became stronger at the end. Medium to long aftertaste. This bottle should probably have been consumed a few years earlier. In spite of this I am giving score 92 pts.
