• (Bottled 2021.) Dark and brooding aroma, with dark sugar, a hint of varnish, and some butter too. This also has some wood aroma, and a hint of petroleum. Medium bodied. Surprisingly fruity for such an old wine, with orange, lime, and key lime. The sugars are nice, but there is not a great variety of sugar flavors in the mix. Lots of acid complexity. Initially I thought this was not the best sample of this wine I’ve had. However, it improved with time, with a little more concentration. I wish I had more, or had let it sit longer in the glass. 94-95 points.
