1948 Niepoort Garrafeira

(Bottled in 1952, decanted in 1973.) Smoke aroma, and floral too. Like this 1987 Garrafeira, this is also wonderful. It is a little bit lighter bodied than that wine, and it tastes older than a 1970. I think I slightly prefer the 1987, this is a great, awesome wine. Later it had more of an old coheita character. 96 points.
