Tasted blind. Smells like a big powerful red, spicy, with herbs, and some green pepper which suggested a Bordeaux wine to me. There were also hints of tar and tobacco in the aroma. The flavor was very juicy with medium body and very nice acidity. It had a great tangy finish with plum and currant flavors persisting. There are lots of tannins as well. This was so powerful and was my favorite wine of the night in a lineup of excellent wines. 96+ points.
I have tasted this wine at least twice before and thought it was fine, but not outstanding. I'm not sure what made the difference here, but certainly give the blind nature of the tasting some consideration.
