Bottled 1991 :
Bought this in one of those Portuguese shop that use to be busier before the main distribution companies took over. It is the 2nd bottle I buy there and so far so good but I've seen some fake ones that the owner does not want to admit, so be careful.
Clear brown/amber color, low saturation. Good deal of sediments in the bottle.
We can clearly smell the bottle age on this wine, with loads of orange peel/marmalada flavours, mixed with nice spices like cinnamon and nutmeg. Not the most intense but quite precise and charming. On the palate, again, the elegance prevails before concentration, but as the wine opens up it becomes more intense and complexe with nice core of caramel, grilled nuts, spices and dried fruits. Nice lenght, missing the concentration of the best but overall a very nice Port 92/100. Hopefully it will keep on getting better with air.
It was the first time I tasted a 40 year old from this company, I enjoyed the touch of bottle age too.
