1997 Quinta do Portal Vintage Port

Medium ruby color. Nose of old wood,coffee, baked pastries, and black cherry. On opening it appeared to be flawed. The initial impression on the palate was correct, but the the after taste was strong taste of bitter celery. Not good! After sitting in the cellar (corked) for 3 days I tried tasting again. This wine is clean now, but whatever power was in the palate has now been lost. It's quite simple now. Not a great showing. 86 points.
