For The Love Of Port

I have a feeling we are going to have a lot of different responses to this one.

Of vintages I've had several times, the 1963; but I once had the 55 which blew me away.

Both of those are great vintages from Graham. I've only had about 8 or so vintages, so I am not an expert... That being said....

I'm going with: 1985 and 1955

1963 Berry Bros Bottling of Graham's. I have had the Graham's bottling but something special about the BB.

1937? Did Graham bottle a 37? Don't know but I regularly bike by a mailbox that says "37 Graham" on it and smile every time :)

The oldest I've had is the 70. I think the 85 may surpass it, but not sure. I have had them side by side a couple of times.

That all said, I'm voting 1970 (and it was delicious a few nights ago)

With the qualifier that I only ever had Graham '70 on up, I vote '85, one of the first bulk VP purchases I made after having had it.

I have had far too few vintages, but of those few the 1970 was just stunning. I also liked the '00 very much, so it would be fun to see in 30 years if that is at the same level.

I forgot to take notes on the 70 Graham last winter. I remember liking it... What 70 isn't good?

I have rated three vintages of the Grahams with 95 points, these were the 1970, 1977 and the surprising vintage of 1980.

I'm not sure which of these I would say is my favourite; perhaps the 1980 as that is such as unexpectedly good port, or perhaps the 1977 as that is one of the few '77s that has delivered on the hype of that vintage.

I think, overall, I will say that my favourite is the 1980 as it was such a surprise and I would never have tried it if Roy hadn't pushed me hard enough to part with the cash and buy a bottle.

I can only recall having the 1948 and the 1985 and I suppose I will have to go with the 1985 a great wine now and for the future. Make note to oneself, buy and drink more Grahams!

I like a lot the 83 at the moment. Great now and for many years to come.

I'd have to say that the '63 would be my choice. Although the '80 is a GREAT bottle of juice for the price!

My favorite Graham's in order are the 1948, 1955, and 1985 I have not yet had a 1970, or '63 but I own them ...I recently picked up a bunch of 1980 that I can't wait to try.
The 1975 and 1966 are very good as well ..I am not however a fan of the 1977 Graham's.

1948 and 1955 Graham's for me. 1985 is also great, but just a notch below these.

Maybe it's me ..I've had it several times and it always seemed unbalanced. Sometimes too much alcohol or no fruit .. not typical Graham. I have several more bottles and I am planning on re-visiting this again soon. Unfortunately all the 1977 Graham's I've had were "pre-tasting notes" and I was just drinking them and giving them the thumbs up or thumbs down!

Roy is being coy, Sean. He thinks the 77 Graham's is flawed . We have exchanged posts about it several times. It is one of my favorites. I think the 85 has similar flaws in bottle variation.

For me it's the 1966, which is one of my all time favorite VPs.
