Seems strange to release two different vintages that are only 2 years apart at the same time. Anyone have a clue why?

With tawnies you release 'em when they're ready, or at least ready to be the product you need at the time.

DR released their 2007 Colheita before their 2006 by a year or two, too, which is almost the same thing.

I get that. But weird to release two vintages so close to each other at the same time.

I do not quite get 10 and 12 year Colheita's.....Tawny to me does not get really interesting until about 20 years. Of course, that is my palate--but I would prefer producers keep their powder dry a lot longer than 10-12 years.

I guess we will have to taste them side by side to understand why :-) I would hope that they have such distinct character.
