Up to you, select just one or choose some from all categories, whatever you'd like, but outside of New Year's Eve ... the timing is right to review what you consumed in 2022 and share with the rest of us. Thanks and wishing you all a Happy and Healthy 2023!

I'd have to say it was a tie between a 1937 Quinta do Noval Colheita and a 1976 Krohn's Colheita.

Wood aged, 1880 Quinta do Mourao. The first wine I've scored 100 points. Second was the DR 100 year old.
Vintage, 1931 Noval bottled by Fearon, Block, Bridges, Routh. Second was 1931 Noval Nacional just after the Fearon 31. First time having it and lucky it was a great bottle.

Easy to remember it was yesterday : Fonseca Vintage 1977.
Next year i'll try a couple of good bottles. The choice will probably not be so easy.

Churchill's Vintage 1985.

As a Tawny guy, it was the first vintage I've tried that made me understand what Vintage's are all about.

There were numerous other great glasses last year, but that was the standout.

Trying to keep it short(er) this year... some of my past years' postings have been pretty long!

Vintage Port
97 - 1970 Fonseca
97 - 1970 Graham
97 - 1987 Quinta de Vargellas
97 - 1985 Fonseca
97 - 1994 Quinta do Vesuvio

There were a similar number at 96 and again at 95, but none cracked 98 this year.

Tawny Port
99 - DR L70 Very Old Tawny Port (bottle #31)
98 - 1937 Quinta do Noval Colheita (1997)
98 - 1952 Burmester Colheita (2017)
98 - 1969 Vista Alegre Colheita (2022)
98 - DR L70 Very Old Tawny Port (bottle number not noted)
98 - Mourao "60" Very Old Tawny Port

It was a very good year for Tawny Port. That first listed DR L70 was as good as any I've ever had.

White Port
95 - Andresen 40 Year Old White Port

What's odd is that I've discovered that I really like white Port, but despite really liking it I haven't had very many spectacular showings. What it provides for me is that classic "bang for your buck" because I like young ones. What's not to like from a 93 or 94 point Port that costs $13 EUR? But they don't make this list.

Someone was looking for a 1952 Vintage Port on reddit and I told to them to get a Colheita because of the slim pickings for VP. The best VP I found in Sten's notes that could be purchased was actually the Mackenzie, odd thing about the the 50s and Mackenzie.

They ended up getting the '52 Burmester Colheita and it was a huge hit.

FWIW, my best of 2022 was the 2000 Ferreira VP and best LBV was either the '08 Warre's or '15 Offley.
All is fair in love and Warre's
