1964 Burmester LBV

Post by Eric Menchen »

(Bottled 1969.) Orange-brown with a little green tint, and reasonable clarity. Presents with a musty aroma, along with smoke and tree bark, oxidized fig, and a hint of date. Later there was a little cream in the aroma. Medium-thin bodied with a light tang, this tastes like an old fashioned candy with the accompanying sweetness. There is also some sultana flavor. Alcohol warmth shows up in the finish. Pleasant overall. 88 points.
