The aroma shows faint red fruit and leather, and some rose petal. Later there was more leather, and different floral notes. Medium-light bodied, this packs plenty of pucker. At first it doesn’t seem as dry as the 1970 Dow. The power is building with time, making this a very powerful and juicy wine for a 1966. It isn’t quite as great as the 1996 Graham tasted this day, but still comes in strong at 93 points.
