Yesterday while up in Douro ... this was mentioned

A very reliable source, explained details and truth about a breaking situation, which to me is very unfortunate.
Jorge Alves, and his lovely wife Ana, have left their jobs working for L. Amorim, (IYKYK) at Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo. I am not going to mention the reasons, as that part and about the property as well, is purely speculation, and something that I personally don't believe in promoting.
Jorge is also best known for the following involvements as:
a. Head of winemaking at Quinta do Tedo.
b. Co-winemaker and partner at Vertice, a great Espumante producer in the Alijo area of Douro.
c. Winemaker/consulting oenologist at the outstanding Dão producer, Taboadella. This winery of extraordinarily fine table wines is also owned by the same owner as Quinta Nova. No information was provided whether Jorge will remain involved in this project. But it is likely that ending with the former, means that the ties to the latter will also be cut. If I learn more on this topic, it will be reported here. But only once it is confirmed.
