For The Love Of Port

We don’t have a forum for fortified wines from Portugal that aren’t Port or Madeira!

There’s a forum for Portuguese table wines — but what about Portuguese wines which are fortified and come from other parts of Portugal?

Mouchão make a fabulous fortified wine. So do Gloria Reynolds.

And there are fortified DOCs in Portugal that aren’t Port or Madeira - like Setúbal and Carcavelos, and ones which are still around in theory but no-one makes them (Azeitão?)

Where do I post tasting notes or even comments on these? I had a fabulous bottle of 1991 vintage Carcavelos yesterday but don’t have a forum to post in…

And yes, that Mouchão is wonderful.

I bought a bunch of non-Port fortified's that were all fantastic and well priced. Need to pick up some more!

I really need to dig around to find most of them , but 2012 Mouchao "Sobremesa Dessert Tonel Aged" was one of them. There are a couple of different Mouchao dessert wines with similar names that were all outstanding.

Carcavelos Villa Oeiras 10 Anos Tinto was another.

Weren't very expensive either.
