Post by Mike J. W. »

Color: Golden, Rim: Clear, Thin, Meniscus: None, Weight (Viscosity): Medium, Nose: Butterscotch, Charred Wood, Maple, White Pepper, Taste: Butterscotch, Caramel, Toasted Coconut, Honey, Maple, Marmalade, Pepper, Pineapple, Wood, Acidity: Medium, Mid-palate, Late, Tannins: Light, Mid-palate, Late, Sweetness Level: Little, Early, Mid-palate, Late, Finish: Long, Smooth, Other Notes: Bottled 2023, Long, thin legs, the color reminds me of a Pilsner

I wanted to open something special for Father's Day weekend and I have 4 bottles of this, so I decided to give it a try. This is a very nice drinking, smooth Port. It's a drier White Port with a low level of sweetness that melds perfectly with the acidity. It has a nice, long, smooth finish to it. DR really knows what they're doing when it comes to aged Tawnies and Whites. 94 points
"I have often thought that the aim of Port is to give you a good and durable hangover, so that during the next day you should be reminded of the splendid occasion the night before." - Hungarian/British journalist & author George Mikes
