Private dueling verticals tasting in Chicago

Post by Roy Hersh »

I am helping out my friend Jamie Garard, who has only 2 seats left at the table:

Grapes for Great Causes presents:

2 Day Legacy Vintage Port Tasting

October 18th & 19th, 2025

October 18th - 12:00pm Lunch at Oceanique 505 Main St, Evanston, IL.

October 19th - 12:00pm Lunch at Aboyer Restaurant 64 Green Bay Rd, Winnetka, IL.

12+ Wine pairings each featuring vintages 1955, 1962/1963, 1963, 1966, 1970, 1975, 1980, 1985, 1994, 1997, 2000, 2003 and 2011. Just added were 1948 Fonseca and 1947 Nacional. A bonus 1955 Quinta do Noval en magnum has been generously added for the weekend.

Christian Seely, head of Axa Millesimes and Quinta do Noval along with Adrian Bridge, CEO of the Fladgate Partnership will be our guests of honor. Roy Hersh (FTLOP) will also be in attendance, as this is an EPIC event they do not want to miss. We will be a group of 18.

A short history about Grapes for Great Causes; we began hosting dinners featuring our wines and raising money for various charities over 30 years ago. To date we have raised over $1.2M for charities in Chicago and South Florida. We pay all expenses for each meal and ask you to write a check to the charity chosen for the event. A win-win situation.

A suggested donation of $2500 or more.

If you are interested, please reach out to me at 1955wine@gmail.com.

Please confirm your attendance (ASAP) as seats are limited. More details to follow.

Final payment is due 9/15/2025

I'd have already been on the list if I weren't going to be in South Africa at that time. :(
