Primeur vintage ports & 2024 vintage potential

Post by Clement R »

Hello,

I want to set aside some nice 2024 bottles for my young son, to gift later in his life. Just saw that some producers (e.g. Niepoort) are have some "primeur" bonds, like in Bordeaux.

Does anyone here have some insight from the producers about the potential quality of the 2024 vintage, this early on ? And in general, are the primeur bonds worth it, regarding final price ? Asking because Bordeaux primeur are usually a very bad idea regarding the final price of the bottle, is it the same for ports?

Edit after more info: the seller (Vila Viniteca) is saying that even if it not declared yet, Niepoort told them it would be declared. They are selling the bottle at 46€, and the 375 at 25€.
