1966 Fonseca VP

Starts with a subtle aroma with some floral character. Swirling reveals some spiciness, and after that come some fruit aromas of berries and currants, along with some grape skins as well. Like the previously tasted 1963 Noval Nacional, this also tastes like it could be a vintage Port from the 1990s, but more like a 1991 or 1992 instead of a 1994. Really nice flavor, but there is a stewed element to the fruits that prevents this from getting a few more points. Still, a wonderful wine. 95-96 points.
