Port Offline in Los Angeles, Friday March 7th (updated info)

Roy will be down this way, so what better excuse to have an offline. Here is the theme.

Ports (Colheita and Vintage) from 1970-1980 done blind.

DO NOT POST what Port you will be bringing, this will be a BLIND tasting. However, if you can email or PM me with your Port so we don't get duplicate bottles.

RESTAURANT INFO:
Celestino
141 S. Lake Ave.
Pasadena, Ca. 91101
http://www.calogerodrago.com

START TIME:

7pm

We will have four courses. A salad, pasta dish, entree (your choice of Filet Mignon, Salmon, or Chicken), and a dessert. The cost will be approximately $85 per person. Price includes tax, tip, and a $5 corkage. We will have our own private room for dinner and the tasting. The table is very large so there is plenty of room for glasses, plates, etc without feeling cramped.

STEMWARE:
Like most restaurants around here, their Port glasses arn't that great (ok, they suck) so I'd suggest bringing several, or lots, of your own.

Any questions let me know.

Andy,

Please find a spot for Jay to join us. It is going to be a pleasure to drink some great Port with him again. It has been too long!

No problem. The restaurant I'm looking at should have plenty of room.
Jay, it would be great to see you again, I do hope you can make it.

Just an update. Today I am checking out the restarants in person to see which one (of the 2) will be best for our needs.

Also,

For those that havn't, can you please email or PM me what you are planning on bringing. That way we can aviod any duplicate bottles.

If you've got any questions, let me know.

Thanks.

If anyone else is interested in coming, there is possibly a spot opening up. I will know for sure by tomorrow. Send me an email or PM ASAP so I can contact you with info.

I can tell you the line up so far is one of the best I've seen in the So. Cal. area in a long time.

What a wonderful time. It was great to see Andy and Eric I. again!

But I finally got to meet Marc J., Alex R. and his wife, and Heather too. Lots of fun and great Ports ... as Andy did a fantastic job with the lineup and the restaurant too!

It was a ton of fun and I was glad to finally meet Heather and others from another forum I've only spoken to online. The cork monster did rear his ugly head, but there was an awsome line up. A great experience for all and a few real surprises for many. Look for an upcoming article about the evening.
