It is always interesting to know how they proceed to make such a list. Often the wine companies have to submit sample and pay a fee to be included in a tasting contest. So in the end, the wine that wins is not necessary excellent but the least worst.
I agree on the 86, a good Colheita but Noval can do better!

Understood, but even the 1994 Quinta do Noval LBV is better than the 1986 Colheita. Like others, I think the '86 is good but not special and can think of a half dozen other Colheitas by Noval which are significantly better, imo.
I am very pleased to see Quinta do Portal, David Guimaraens, The Douro Boys and Peter Symington all named as winners for their respective categories.
