Michelle is actually offering a great deal here. I have been in touch with Michelle before her post here and I can tell you that bottles of this quality from the exalted 1963 vintage (the greatest for Nacional since 1931) normally run from $2000-3000 USD.
On the several occasions that I have been fortunate enough to enjoy this wine, it has rocked my world. So good luck to you folks and if anybody has this as their birth year, there is nothing better you could buy to spoil yourself on your 50th birthday in about 7 years.

I only own one of these bottles as well, although I have had this Port six times, three of which came in the past two years.
For someone with a birth year of 1963, I can not think of any greater bottle to celebrate their 50th birthday that is upcoming in 7+ years.

Still we are talking about 1,8k!!!
Isn't any auction house interested? The price for a bottle like this is more than what it is selling for, she would be sure to sell it there and maybe get more money from it. I'm not very keen about auction but this could be and interesting possibility.

Living the dream and now working for a Port company
Frederick,
$1800 to you may seem like a lot of money, but to many wine collectors it is not. So please don't impose your perceived values on this particular bottle.
I watch the values of bottles of Port day in and day out from retailers around the world. Auction prices don't make a difference when you have a bottle like this. In auctions there are tons of games that go on and as long as the bottle looks perfect, what is inside is never known so lots of bad bottles get sent that route. Half the bottles of Bordeaux that don't show well are because they were bought cheaply (at good prices compared to retail) from owners that foisted less than great lots of wine on the auction houses to be rid of them. Maybe 50% is an exaggeration, but I dont' think so. It might just be an understatement, but that is a seperate topic.
I can tell you from brokering three or four deals on 1963 Nacionals in the past (this past summer, I sold six for a gent ... in 48 hours ... that were stored in his cellar for over 30 years) that this price is VERY solid for a bottle of this provenance. Sorry to sound argumentative here, but sometimes 2.5 decades of Port experience does count for something.
By the way ... I have NO financial interest in Michelle's bottle whatsoever.

Roy,
I think you are being unfair to Fred here. My reading of his post is that he is suggesting to Michelle that she may get more $ for her bottle at auction than through this site. I don't see anything in Fred's post that is intended to diminish the perceived value of this bottle, only some helpful and well intentioned advice.

Derek and Frederick,
If that is the case, then I do appologize. That was not my original read of this (

), but the intent I read into this, could be very different than what was actually meant. Derek is a sound voice of reason and I will take his impartiality to heart here. Sorry Fred. The price for a bottle like this is more than what it is selling for
