Opening this bottle of "Port Wine" (as the label says in Cyrillic) tonight.

Decanting suggestions?

Thanks
Ted

Presumably you've opened this wine by now - what was it like?

I've always been very curious about Russian Massandra "Ports" and "Madeiras".

Ted,

I have had the 1945 Massandra Port a few times and think it's wonderful. I know the importer from a few years back and he swore to me that you need to stand that wine up for two months and then decant it extremely carefully. It does have extremely fine sediment.

That's a rare bottle you have there. Have you opened it?

Paul was very generous and opened one of his '45s in my presence and it is still the only Massandra I've ever tasted. It was no Nacional, but was a Port I'd never forget. It was delicious and was truly a piece of history.

So ... how was your '55 bottle Ted?
