I decided to revisit the 1983 Cockburn plagued by constant notes of TCA but kept my hopes low. After an hour and half of decanting the first sip showed a lot of alcohol but thankfully no TCA whatsoever. The tastes were of grape, dark fruit, and blueberry with apple and spice on the finish. In the glass it had a lovely dark purple, ruby, and blackberry color. The initial heavy alcohol nose blew off after several hours. The taste also evolved greatly and showed wonderful hints of dark chocolate and pipe tobacco. When it's "on" this is a great Port!
