The 1983 Ferriera Quinta Do Seixo had a nice dark blackberry color in the glass and was still showing a bit of alcohol on the nose after 4 hours of decanting. It had a smooth fruit taste on the palate, primarily that of dried apricot and honeydew melon. The '83 showed the most fruit of the eight Ferreira bottles sampled and was one of the better Ports of the vintage I have tasted.

Re: 1983 FERREIRA VINTAGE PORT
One of the darkest color of the flight, the nose suggest this VP is still young with some good potential. Flavours of ripe plums, beets sugar and floral notes are quite intense. On the palate, the port is very sweet, full of dark fruits, some tannins are still well hidden there, long and spicy finish with slightly unbalanced presence of acidity. 16.5/20
