Looking for US Offlines

Work takes me to the US for the week either side of the weekend of October 20. Week 1 is likely to be Chicago and Boston and week 2 is likely to be New York and Los Angeles.
When I have a more definite plan, I will start some threads to see if we can put some offlines together.

We look forward to when you return to Seattle for your 2nd visit. It might not be the big blowout of last time, but I am sure you'll be able to enjoy the company of Kris H.. Stewart T., Glenn E. and me. I assume we could find some worthy bottles to make it worth your while.

Just give me a heads up on when you make it back out to L.A. and we'll get something set up again.

I'm not sure when Seattle will be back on the travel agenda, could be a few years until the children are at college and we have the freedom to travel out of season to see the Orcas - but I look forward to the next trip as well!

John,
Thanks for the invite. As soon as Chicago is confirmed I will be sure to let you know. I always enjoy meeting new folks from the port forum.

Alex, any chance you are heading to Canada???

I'd love to meet you and think that my heading over to the UK would earn me a divorce if it weren't a business-related thing (which is rare indeed to spots not in the USofA!) :?

Hi Alex,
I was just checking my schedule for the timeframe you've noted you might be in Chicago. If you are here on October 19, I can definitely meet up with you and get an off-line together. The same holds true for Thursday, October 16. Unfortunately, the 15th, 17th, and 18th are booked for me.
Are you coming any closer to having your schedule firm up?
John

John,
Alex is travelling on business in Australia, New Zealand and the Far East for the next 10 days so he may be slow to reply to this.
Hold those dates!!

You know where to go in Boston... What do you think we should plan?

Hi Alex,
Any update on your trip to Chicago?

Folks,
The update - which I accept has been very slow in coming - is that my grand tour of the US was canned and turned into a 3 day trip to New Jersey instead.
And now that my employer has introduced a travel ban to reduce costs and is laying me off at the end of January, it seems very unlikely that I will make it to the US for an offline for a good while yet.
But I really appreciate the offers I received to meet up and will try to accept some of them in the future.
Alex

Ouch - sorry to hear this Alex....
I am in a similar boat. Mgmt of my company has announced already that 2009 will bring ~3500+layoffs and outsourcing the likes of which have never been seen before in Canada...

I've already update my resume. May we all get thru this global economic 'crisis' relatively unscathed...
