OK, so i'm a happy man, i just got 2 Barbeito Malvasiass: 1900 & 1875 @ UKP 140 resp. UKP 200.

Any ideas on how long these can/should be stored before opened?

Will decanting be necessary?

Thanks

Andreas

Congrats Andreas! Those are very nice bottlings.

I would recommend leaving them alone for a few days after they arrive. After that, I would definitely decant them just to give them air. I think that all madeiras benefit from the aeration they get from decanting. Once that's done, they'll last for a very long time in the decanter.

Please post notes once you've tried them.

All the best,
John

Bravo, take good car eof them. I have got some info that Barbeito more or less have stopped selling
the old ones for the time being. Even in Norway where they always were in stock have none of the old ones...
