Defends Ports good name

I love Tom and his blog Fermentation, but as with any site don't always agree with it. This is an example where this board could make a nice difference in another circle of wine drinkers. Tell him why "Port" should be exclusive to Portugal. Head on over and tell Tom why he's wrong.

On the other hand does anyone in this forum see that the term "Port" should not be exclusive to the wine from Portugal? you never know....

But if you look closely, he's not even sure of his own argument. To quote:
What a shame too, because this term, Port, really shouldn't not be on such a list alongside the likes of "Burgundy", "Champagne", or "Bordeaux."

I have to say that when I read Tom's posts I decided it was rather futile to post a reply as he simply seems to be being provocative for the sake of it. Andy, Glenn and Ryan have done a sterling job of defending the name of our beloved juice. I very much doubt that adding more of the same to that thread will make Tom concede that he is wrong.

Yeah, almost everyone that posted blasted his views...a good thing IMO 8--)
