Harvest Tour Odds & Ends
Just wondering if anyone was bringing a video camera on the trip to capture some youtube moments of us stomping around in the lagares...
I was planning on bringing one, but it seems to be developing some sort of issues...

I know Roy said they would be videoing the stomping. We also will video it, but with our little digital still camera...

I dont have one, but I am under the impression that Roy and Mario have someone to video us in the lagars. So there should be a good quality video made. So start practicing your military drill stomping as I've got a feeling that really mean looking drill sergeant guy will be back to lead us

The video camera I had been expecting all along WAS Stewart's. He had been talking about doing the video for youtube etc.
As for Sunday, we have a great day planned. 2 p.m. with a Colheita-athon with multiple mini horizontals from various Port houses from specific great Colheita years. For those that are not familiar with Colheita this will be extraordinarily educational. There will also be a bottle of my own Colheita cuvee (4 top vintages included) that some of you got to taste in May and/or June 2007. Another bottle has been unearthed.
Dinner will rock the casbah with some fun white and Douro reds, then off to Vinologia for a very long dessert and at least a dozen Ports. Come prepared, but don't miss Sunday ... even though this is not part of the real Port Harvest Tour fun.

Have a great trip you guys. I saw the comment on colheitathon 2007 and couldn't agree more. Although this was not an officially sanctioned FLOP event, the Sunday Noval visit was a highlight. Enjoy some 1971 birthyear vintage for me (I may even open a 1971 on Sunday just for memories sake). Anyone other than Andy and Stewart that I would know travelling on this trip? Again, have a great trip and hoping to make next year's.

I am not sure if this year's first day was any where near as crazy, but it sure was fun. The impressive horizontal lineup of Colheitas from each of the vintages: 1979, 1966, 1952 and 1937 was impressive. Then "the hike" helped to sober everyone back up again, only to then be slathered by the wares of Vinologia after some fine piggy. All in all, a fun day and not too excessive. I did not see anyone with a greenish tinge the following morning when we began the official first day of the trip.
