The Rare Wine Company is selling a few bottles of Henriques & Henriques very very old Madeiras. The Malvasia Reserva is $1195 and has a ****+ rating from Alex Liddell (his super highest rating). The Grand Old Boal is $995 and rated ****. Most people will not see the newsletter untill Monday so people who call early have a chance to get some. Th prices are high but these are perfection in Madeira and probably are never to be seen again. Also available is W.S. Bual $950 which I am not familiar with.
Anybody on the west coast interested in doing a tasting, I will put in my share, but sadly can not afford to buy them myself. These would make the core of a great Madeira tasting. I have some Madeira classics which could be added, or I would put in my share. I have more information if people are interested.

Shawn,
I still have one seat available for another of the Madeira Road Show tastings (like the one you attended in SF) on Oct. 18th in NYC. Let me know if you are interested.

Madeira Road Show tastings
I'm eager to attend Madeira tastings, but with the price of airfare and lodging in New York I could buy enough Madeira to host my own tasting - well maybe not quite with the high prices of Madeira these days.
Thanks Roy, I do appreciate your letting me know about the tasting.

Hi Shawn,
Too bad I missed your post... I got shut out of the W.S Boal.
I think it would be great to someday have a tasting that featured the "Heavenly Quartet". I could put in the Grand Old Boal. If we could get the other three, this would make for an epic tasting. Anybody out there have these other wines and willing to do a tasting?
I'll be in SF in June for my brother-in-law's wedding... maybe we could do it then if we can source the bottles?
Or maybe the East Coast?
Shawn... you are welcome to stay in my spare bedroom in Connecticut if you ever want to do an East Coast tasting (including the upcoming one this Sat).
