Dear Members,

Roy has kindly allowed me to have another go at posting about Wine Blogging Wednesday. My last post was taken down probably because I did not provide a full enough explanation, and also being a newbie on this forum perhaps gave the impression of trying to solicit for business.

Wine Blogging Wednesday was started about 4 years ago by Lenn Thompson, the idea being to hold a "virtual" winetasting once a month. This has been very successful and since become a collaborative effort. This latest WBW is the 51st. Every WBW has a theme and this week the blog 1WineDude played host, the theme being "Baked Goods". Joe Roberts (no relation of mine) is the man behind 1WineDude and he had Madeira or other deliberately madeirized wines (Rutherglen Muscat, Banyuls etc) in mind. Joe also allowed sweet fortified wines into the tasting, mindful that Madeira can sometimes be difficult to source.

The WBW website:

The way WBW works, whoever hosts that months event posts about their theme, and all other bloggers who choose to become involved put a link to their post in the host's comments section. Members may be interested in reading what has gone up for this WBW, since it's mostly about Madeira, and perhaps joining the converstation. Roy has asked me not to link directly to 1WineDude, but you can easily find links to his posts and therefore contributions by other bloggers here at my small piece below (I guest-post on the catavino.net, a blog which specialises in Iberian wines):

Kindest regards
