From a tasting at Pete's Fine Wines in Bellevue, WA, on December 14, 2008.

Dow's 10-yr Old Tawny Porto
paired against Quinta do Infantado Medium-Dry Tawny Porto

Amber-tan in color, with something darker hinting at the center. The darkness shows in the nose as a honey-like aroma. Relatively dry in the mouth, with some woody notes to go along with the apricots and dates. There's some general citrus as well which gives it an acidic (and dry) backbone.

Nice enough to win the pair, but probably not something I'd buy for myself.

I guess you'd expect a 10 year old to win over a basic Tawny. As much as I really like the Dow house style of Ports, I have never been a big fan of this particular bottling. It is not bad and no faults imo, I just find there are better 10 year old Tawny Ports to be enjoyed.
