20 Year Old Tawny Port by Rocha

From a tasting at Pete's Fine Wines in Bellevue, WA, on December 14, 2008.
Porto Rocha 20-yr Old Tawny Porto
paired against 1987 Kopke Colheita
A darker amber-tan than the Dow's 10-yr Old, with some red thrown in to remind you where it came from. Some caramel in the nose along with a mellow date/fig note and oak. Rich and round in the mouth with a good citrus kick.
Another surprising result for me, as this used to be my favorite 20-yr Old Tawny Port. But on this night it lost out to the 1987 Kopke Colheita, which I have had before and have not been all that impressed with. What a revelation when tasted head-to-head!
