That's the seal from Junta Nacional do Vinho. This lot, where this bottle belongs, was certified and bottled after 1970 and before 1982, as JNV was renamed for IVV (Instituto da Vinha e do Vinho, wich is were i work).

Joao,

Do you work at the IVV office in Gaia?

Joao,

I have walked by it on several occasions over the past 4 years and have never seen it open. I always wanted to visit, but never had the chance. How long has it been closed up?

They Gaia office was not really an office but a laboratory for wine analysis.
If you are talking about the one that is in the street of were is nowadays the Niepoort warehouse, i think is abandoned for a long time.

Yes, on the other side of the street. That is the exact building I am talking about. Thanks. Wasn't there another IVV closer to the Melia hotel too?
