SQVP vs. QPR - a question

Which Single Quinta Port producer do you feel offers the best QPR (not just Vintage!) for overall Port production?

Let's keep Quinta do Noval out of the mix, only because it would be easy to choose, for their Nacional skews the mix.

But Single Quintas, especially the type which are part of larger Port companies, for example Quinta da Cavadinha (of Warre's fame) ... but of course it could be a true SQ property like Quinta do Crasto or Portal.

Actually, if you feel that Q do Noval truly represents the best SQ QPR Ports, you may certainly vote for them too. :salute:

I think that my best QPR single quinta would have to be Madalena. They produced a phenomenal 1988 which really is a joy to drink.

Over the longer term, I would have to vote for Roeda. They produce consistently good wines in non-declared years, which are extremely good - I just never have the will-power needed to leave them for a couple of decades to reach their peak.

After the tasting there, I'm going to vote for Portal. Lovely wines and really excellent prices. If only I saw them more often in CA or NV.

Been digging the Grahams' Malvedos and have always liked Dow's Quinta Do Bomfim. Can't say I have had that many SQVP's, but both of the above had been quite good both in price and quality.
