Simon,

What did you do with the contents after you gave up on them? I only ask from the experience that I had a few weeks ago with a wine that I opened and decanted and which absolutely stank.

24 hours later and most of the stink had gone and the wine was quite palatable. 12 hours after that and the wine was very enjoyable.

How long did you give it to come round - if it was ever going to?

Alex I gave it about 18 hrs it was a definite dud I've had many old wines and port that to be honest downright stank but were palatable and pleasent but this had been spoilt over time there were signs of seepage when I removed the capsule.I've been checking my other bottles as paranoia set in.
