Domestic or International carriers ... what have you seen that has wowed you on board?
Your favorite airlines for fine wines ... or is this just an oxymoron?

Since I am regulated to the cattle car section of the plane, there isn't exactly a plethera of great wines being poured. But by far International (non-USA based companies) airlines have the best wine and dinning on board IME.
I like Virgin Atlantic, not only for the on-board amenities, but even in the cattle car section I've been given a nice glasses of Port that the stewardess got for me out of the 1st class section
TAP, the Portuguese Airline, generally has an ok selection of Ports in mini-bottles that they hand out when asked..and they give you all you want (not to mention feeding you tons of food)

I can't remember any airline in particular for its wine selection, so that's probably saying something. For beer, Horizon Air. Too bad they don't have much coverage. And sorry, Andy, but I had an incredibly bad experience (nothing to do with wine or beer) with Virgin Atlantic such that I will never fly them again.

The best I've seen was Cathay Pacific. I've heard Singapore Airlines is also good.

Definitively Andy, if the question was "Which airline offers more food" TAP would win by far

The best I have had was in Business Class on Jet Airways (India) where I was served a free-flowing supply of Dom Perignon Vintage 1996 followed by as much Graham's 20 year old tawny as I could drink.
It was a 9 hour flight and my colleagues and I did not sleep a wink

:blah:

Singapore Air had really good food, so the wine was probably decent. I don't remember Thai, but have flown it. Many years ago I flew KLM a good number of times and thought they had good food, but I wouldn't be surprised if that has changed. Sounds like I should be trying to fly Jet Airways, Business Class to India next.

yeap, I've never seen that much food served on a plane before. TAP does win in this category....though on one flight I asked for Port when they were handing out lunch. The stewart looked at me and said, "but it's to early." I just smiled and said "Its never to early for Port." He shook his head and handed me some mini bottles...I enjoyed my lunch and Port
